The Detroit Tigers have all those arms going in their four game set with he Athletics but the A's didn't get the memo or just do not care. After scoring two in the top half of the fist frame and the Tigers getting Verlander off the hook in the bottom half the A's go onto beat Verlander and the Tigers again in Comerica.

A's Starter Tommy Milone goes the distance in this rain-shortened affair and beats the Tigers and Justin Verlander. Milone goes five giving up three runs on three hits as he struck out three and handed out as many free passes. With the score tied in the top half of the 5th Verlander knew he couldn't make a mistake and paid for one from A's RF Brandon Moss as he goes 2-run HR to push the lead to 5-3 A's with Mother Nature ready to roll credits.

Verlander went five and allowing five runs on four hits as he struck out three and walked three as he has to be kicking himself about that two-run bomb in the 5th. Moss and A's SS Jed Lowrie knocked in four of the A's six runs. Prince Fielder of the Tigers knocks in two of the three Tiger Runs. With the win the A's stay right on the rangers tail still just two of the AL West pace. The Tigers keep their 5 1/2 game lead as the Tribe gets shout out in ATL 2-0.
