Don;t look now but nine games over the .500 mark and plenty of work still to do the New York Yankees are quietly putting together a run to get back into the AL East Race and the AL Wild Card Race is what's on their menu now.

Behind a nine inning masterpiece from Bombers RHP Ivan Nova ( CG 3 H 1 BB 5 SO 0 R) and a Solo Bomb from Robbie Cano plus another run knocked in from Cano's Maple the Yankees cruise to a 2-0 shutout and the Orioles have gone from AL East Contenders to AL Wild Card Pretenders as they now fall behind the Yanks in the standings. Orioles Starter Scott Feldman pitched a whale of  game going seven innings allowing one run on six hits while walking one and striking out five.

The Orioles Offense just managed three hits and that trio of Machado, Adam Bombs, and Crush Davis went a combined 1 for 10 with three strikeouts and they left five ducks on the pond. That cannot happen as the O's at least need one of them to give them some sort of run production. The O's now fall behind in the AL East by eight games and the AL Wild Card by 4.5 games.

The Yankees are making their move as they go for the sweep on Sunday being 7.5 games back of the Carmines in the AL East but just four game back in the AL Wild Card.
