The Arizona Diamondbacks took that flight to the Banks of the Ohio and they meant business at least on this Tuesday Night in the Great American Ball Park. Behind a Complete Job from All-Stars Patrick Corbin and Paul Goldschmidt the D-Backs take game one 5-2.

Corbin struck out ten and gave up two runs as one was a two-run HR to Red Legs RF Chris Heisey. He scattered six hits and took the D-Backs right to the handshakes. The Reds couldn't get anything going versus Corbin as he looks like that Corbin from April and May and that is bad news for D-Back Foes from here into early October.

Meanwhile the D-Backs Offense started with a Solo Bomb off the Maple of Martin Prado and that run was the only one on the board until the 8th inning and with the ducks covering the pond it was first baseman Paul Goldschmidt's turn....There is a Drive deep and you can touch'em all as "Goldie" goes "Granny" in the 8th...D-Backs go onto win 5-2 as the Red Legs add two off Heisey's Bomb. "Goldie" has been all Gold in the last week to week and a half as he is as locked in as anyone and Red Legs that's the one Diamondback between the chalk that will bite and send you to ER as he did tonight.

The D-Backs now are five off the pace for the Red Legs #2 Wild Card Slot. The Dodgers still have a seven game lead on the D-Backs in the West but don't give the "Boys in Blue" the NL West Title just yet.
