The Chicago Cubs played tough on Friday beating up the Cards 7-0 and then Joe Kelly does what he does On Saturday with Redbirds Ace Adam Wainright cruising through the Rubber Game with a little help from CF John Jay.

The Redbirds win 6-1 as Wainright went seven allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking darn there four innings worth of Cubbies. The Redbirds Offense was provided All-Star Second Baseman Matt Carpenter and CF john Jay who went off. Jay goes 2 for 4 scoring two runs and knocking in four. The Big one was a Three-Run Shot off of Cubbies Reliever James Russell in the 7th that made a 3-1 Redbirds lead into a 6-1 romp. Cubbies Starter Edwin Jackson went six allowing three runs on six hits while walking four and striking out three. Jackson was that $50 Million Pitcher Baseball Scientist Theo Epstein paid in last years Winter Meetings...Hmmmmmm!

The Cubbies couldn't get anything going as they only mustered five hits as CF Junior Lake had two of the five hits. Now the redbirds are one game behind the Buccos for first place in the Central as the Pirates go down in 16 to the D-Backs 4-2. The Red Legs win as well and they are 2 1/2 back of the Pirates and 1 1/2 off the Redbirds. The NL Central will go into October to declare a winner...wait and see!
