The Pittsburgh Pirates have hit a tough stretch but there is still time as we have a little over a month left of Hardball. The Pirates open a home stand and lose to the Milwaukee Brewers as the Brew Crew try to play spoiler to everyone in their path.

The Brewers get their Offense from ex-Bucs and North Sider in Hot Corner Aramis Ramirez as he goes O-Zone Layer on the Pirates. A-Ram as he was called in Wrigleyville hit a Solo HR and went 4 for 5 with four ribbies as he scored one run. The Brew Crew scored in five innings including putting up a crooked three in the 5th.

The Pirates had their chances as their bug guns showed up with Second Baseman Neil Walker leading going 2 for 5 with a huge three-run HR in the 5th to answer the Brew Crew's top half of that inning. "Cutch 22" was 2 for five and "El Toro" Pedro Alvarez went 4 for 4 including a Solo Bomb in the 8th but it wasn't enough.

Pirates All-Star Pitcher Jeff Locke was touched up again in 4 2/3 innings allowing five runs on eight hits as he walked two and struck out four. The Pirates need those young arms to step up and after about 25 plus outings those Innings start to take its toll on the Arm and not making excuses. Brewers late 2013 Free Agent Pick Up Kyle Loshe wasn't much better as he was swallowed after 5 1/3 innings giving up five runs on thirteen hits as he struck out two and gave no free passes.

The Pirates now fall a game back of the Redbirds in the NL Central as they still have a hold on the #1 Wild Card Slot. The Brew Crew is running on "I am a Major-Leaguer...so play like one and finish strong".
