The Chicago Cubs since the Calendar hit June 2014 have been playing solid hardball. Now as we enter the Month of July the Cubbies get a Inter League Twist versus the "Carmines" of Beantown at Fenway with Jake Arrieta going up against Jake Peavy to start the series.

It was all Cubbies RHP Jake Arrieta as he goes No No all through the Bottom of the 8th with two outs as Stephen Drew broke it up with a single. Arrieta's Tab vs the Carmines...7.2 IP 1 H 0 R 1 BB 10 SO as he was on his game all night long moving to a solid 5-1 in 2014. His counterpart Veteran RHP Jake Peavy pitched very well going six and giving up a two-runs on five hits with two walks as he struck out seven. It was a Two-Run "Big Fly" from Cubbies Nate Schierholtz that cancelled the post game show for Peavy and the Carmines on this night.

The Cubbies move to 35-46 while the Carmines fall to a disappointing 38-45...

Note: Cubbies Captain Save-A-Game Hector Rondon gets his 10th save against 12 chances...
