Just the game itself watching had that October Feel to it as the Los Angeles Dodgers try to exercise those Demons in Baseball Town USA. The Redbirds get a strong Waino-Like Effort from Starter Lance Lynn who goes six strong allowing just four hits and two runs. Dodgers Starter Dan Haren didn't have his goo stuff as he lasted 4 2/3 innings giving up three runs on eight hits as he struck out four.
It was the Matt Holliday Show as he hits an RBI-Double in the 1st then took Haren for a Two-Run Bomb in the 5th to chase Haren and give the Redbirds some much-needed insurance with a 3-0 lead. The Dodgers eventually got it going in a wild 7th as AJ Ellis doubled in a run then later scored on a Wild Pitch to make it 3-2 Redbirds. Cards Captain Save-A-Game Trevor Rosenthal gets his 29th Save doing what he does in the 9th...getting Congrats from a Redbirds Back Stop!
The Redbirds move to 53-44 a game back of the Brew Crew. The Dodgers fall back into 1st place with the Gigantes at 54-44. I have this funny feeling the Cards and Dodgers will be locked into a Seven Game Series sometime in the fall...
