The Kansas City Royals are back to their old ways as most of Royals nation will probably give their boys until Mid-August then hit the Phone Booth and come out in Red Friday Apparel heading to Arrowhead. The Chi-Sox meanwhile are winning but in the same boat as the Royals Nation as both are back in the AL Central heap.
The night belonged to Sox All-Star LHP and Ace Chris Sale of Florida Gulf Coast University in beautiful Naples, Florida as the Sox beat the Royals 3-1. Sale was masterful looking like a mix between John Tudor of the Redbirds and Jimmy Key of the Blue Jays and MLB Heads you know what the Bluedude is cookin'! After seven solid frames of seven hit Hardball and giving up one run...the Sox Offense just needed two runs to get Sale a "W". Those two came off the Ash, Maple, or Bamboo of one Adam "Paul Bunyan" Dunn as he delivered a two-run scoring single in the bottom half of the 1st inning. Sox Second Baseman Gordon Beckham gets a Sac-Fly in the 6th to give the South Side Hit Men more breathing room down the stretch. Royals Starter Jeremy Guthrie takes the "L" moving to 5-9 in 2014.
The South Siders pick up a game on the Royals moving to 48-52 while K.C. falls to 48-50...
Note: Sox All-Star Jose Abreu was 1 for 4...
