The Cleveland Indians know they have to stay close enough to the AL Central leading Detroit Tigers and close enough is seven games or under. As we go to press the "Tribe" came in 48-47 which is 6.5 games back of the Tigers and good for 2nd place. The Motor City Kitties created a little bit of breathing room before the break and now it looks like they might squander all that good work.
The Indians win their 2nd straight vs the Tigers as Corey Kluber did them in Saturday. "Klubs" almost went Complete Job as he goes 8 2/3 inning allowing two runs scattering seven hits as he struck out ten with one free pass. The Tribe jumped on the Tigers Farm Project in RHP Drew VerHagen in the 5th as he was cruising until then with a crooked three. This three runs came on a Nick Swisher two-bagger and run-scoring singles by David Murphy and Jason Kipnis. The Tigers get one back in the bottom half of the 5th on a run-scoring single by Austin Jackson making it 3-1 Indians. The Tribe never looked back after that putting three more up including two runs in the top of the 9th for insurance.
Murphy led "Believeland" going 2 for 2 with two RBIs as Tribe Back Stop Yan Gomes goes 3 for 4 scoring three runs. "Miggy" Cabrera led the Tigers going 3 for 4 with a run. Tribe moves to 49-47 5.5 game out as the Tigers fall to 53-40...
