After a 14-1 defeat last night with Yellow Tape in front of the Blue Birds Locker Room with a Crime Scene. The 'Jays cuff'em like the Good Hand's People and hit the Phone Booth on the Carmines becoming the Redeem Team.
It was former Northwestern Wildcats Star LHP J.A. Happ going six strong scattering seven hits and no runs as the Blue Birds bounce back with a 7-3 "W". Carmines RHP Jake Peavy, who is a shell of his former self unfortunately, was knocked around through 6 1/3 innings giving up five runs on eight hits including a Solo Shot top Jose Reyes and a Two-Run Blast to 'Jays Back Stop Dioner Navarro. Both of those Bombs came in the 6th Inning where the 'Jays opened up a 1-0 lead to make it 4-0. The red Sox Offense didn't get cooking until Happ was long gone.
"Big Papi" David Ortiz gets the Carmines on the board with a Solo Blast in the 8th for the Carmines first run. Then Stephen Drew hits a Two-Run "Tater" to make it the final score of 7-3. Blue Birds Captain Save-A-Game Brett Cecil picks up save #4 of 2014.
The 'Jays move to 52-49 just 3.5 behind the AL East leading O's. The Carmines at 47-53 still have time but they must strike quickly as we enter August Hardball as they are eight games back.
