The Miami Marlins avoid the "Sweep" at the hands of the NL West leading "Gigantes of the Bay" as the Fish needed that for their Psyche in the 2nd half drive to stay alive in the NL East. The Marlins get a huge effort from LHP Brad Hand as he kept the Giants at bay allowing two runs over a solid seven innings. The Fightin' Fish 305 got it started early as Fish Hot Corner Casey McGehee took Giants Starter Tim Lincecum for a Two-Run Blast in the 1st to give the Marlins a 2-0 lead.

The Gigantes though came right back in the 3rd as Five-Star Giants Back Stop Buster Posey hits a Two-Run Scoring Double to knot things up 2-2. That score would remain as both Starters settled down until the bottom half of the 7th. Marlins Adeiny Hechavarria scores on a Lincecum Wild Pitch as that was the ball game...Fish 3 Giants 2. Lincecum went seven giving up three runs on five hits as he gave up a Two-Run HR and uncorked a WP for the game-winning run.

The Fish on NL East "Pretender or Contender" Watch moves to 45-52 which is eight back of the Nats. The Gigantes fall to 54-44 as they are still atop the West waiting to see what Mr. Kershaw of the Dodgers does vs Baseball Town USA on ESPN's Sunday Night Hardball.
