The one thing the Philadelphia Phillies have is a Left-Hander or a Set of Left-Handers that can reach back in any start and go Senior Circuit Cy Young on anyone. The Gigantes knew that coming into their 4th game in as many days with a four-game sweep on their mind. The only problem was the Phightin' Phils Hamels has been Kryptonite to San Fran Hardball over time...and that would continue on this day July 24th, 2014.

Hamels was dealing as he had to as Vet RHP Tim "Huddy" Hudson was his counterpart going for the Gigantes on the Bump with no margin for error. Hamels goes eight strong allowing a run in the 5th as his only Boo Boo on the day and striking out ten Giants with a free pass as he moves to 5-5 in 2014. The 'Phils get enough offense off Hudson as they get a Run-Scoring Single from Marlon Byrd in the 1st and a Run-Scoring Single in the 5th with the game tied at one from Chase Utley. Utley, Byrd, and Juan Nieves were the only 'Phils with a multi-hit game as Gigantes CF Gregor Blanco was the only for San Fran Hardball to get two or more hits.

"Huddy" gave the Gigantes a shot going six strong allowing just two runs on eight hits as he walked two and struck out six. Phightin' 'Phils Captain Save-A-Game Jonathan Papelbon gets his 24th save in 2014. The 'Phils are 44-58 at the bottom of the NL East. The Gigantes at 57-45 lead the Dodgers in the West  by 1.5 games as they extend some pressure to Team Chavez Ravine in late July!
