The Atlanta Braves ended the 1st half like they will be ready to lead the NL East to the finish in the 2nd half. The Chop Shop beats the Cubbies two out of three in the Series wining the "Rubber Game" going away 10-7 and it wasn't that close.

Braves Ace Julio Teheran gets the "W" (7 IP 7 H 4 R 2 BB 2 HR 6 SO) despite losing his grip on this game in the late innings. The Braves Offense scored three in the 2nd and 4 in the 3rd with the big blow being Braves Hot Corner Chris Johnson Three-Run Tatter of Cubs Starer Travis Wood. Wood (6 IP 7 H 7 R 3 BB 4 SO HR) takes the "L" as he falls to 7-8 in 2014.

The Cubs made a game of it late scoring as Cubbies Second Baseman Arismendy Alcantara and Chris Coghlan go Two-Run Bombs in the 6th and 7th Inning both off of Teheran. The North Siders ended adding three more in the 8th as the Braves Captain Save-A-Game Craig Kimbrel puts the fire out in the 9th getting his 29th save.

The Braves at 51-43 are a 1/2 game back of the NL East leading Nats (51-42). The North Siders are the only team in the NL Central under the .500 mark at 40-53 at the break.
