The Steelers #1 Backer on the Outside in the 2013 Season that saw the "Men of Steel" go 8-8 after starting 0-4 and trust me NFL Heads and Steelers Nation there is no and will be no Moral Victory in that. The Steelers are Salary Capped Strapped but that $133 Million new Cap above some $10 Million from 2013 will help.
Steelers made a huge move in the grand scheme of things as former Beamer Ball Backer and All-American Jason Worilds gets the "Transition Finger" or what many know it as the Transition Tag. That Tag is worth roughly $9.754 million and that simply means the Steelers hold onto Worilds and cam match any pending Offer for the Free Agent Backer but will not get any compensation in the form of Draft Picks like the Franchise tag. In laymen terms it means Worilds might get a Duffel Bag or two and the Steelers love him to death...just not in 2014.
Excellent move for the Steelers as OLB Lamaar Woodley will most likely be cut whose production has been increasingly headed north as Worilds needs to be #1 on the Depth Chart in 2014. Worilds came on in 2013 looking at his 2013 Numbers:
16 Games 63 Tackles (43 solo) 8 Red Jersey Collection (Sacks) 2 Force Fumbles
Worilds led the Steelers in Sacks with 8 in 2013 with Woodley limited to just 11 games was tied for 2nd with five sacks\with DE/DT Cam "Lil Ironhead" Heyward.
NFL Free Agency starts March 11th...Steelers a reported $6 million over the new Cap of $13 million starting next week
