The St. Louis Billikens were dead to right and somehow rights the ship as the NC State Wolfpack played not to lose instead of playing to win down the stretch. The Billikens down 65-57 at the 1:30 mark in the 2nd half just kept fouling and scoring as the Wolfpack kept missing from the line as this game was a classic case of how not to finish in the Big Dance with a sizable lead.

Pack was led by Warren's 28 points and eight boards. Billikens get 2 points and fifteen boards from Rob Loe to lead them in both categories. Billikens advance to play the winner Louisville/Manhattan.

The North Dakota State Bison was another 12 vs 5 and it was a game of two halves. The Sooners leading late shoot themselves in the foot losing the game at the Free Throw Line in Regulation. The Bison gets the game-tying Money Ball in Regulation as the Bison took over in Extras. Sooners won the Deep Ball but lost at the Free Throw Line. The Bison was led by Lawrence Alexander's 28 points while Oklahoma's Cameronn Clark had 25 points for Boomer Sooner. NDSU plays the winner of San Diego State/New Mexico State winner.
