The Yankees had the cash to pay Cano they just didn't want to pay for an extended period of time. I don't blame them as plenty of Owners have gotten burned by Money on the Books for a Player who is a "Big Fly" past his prime. Having said that Robinson Cano is still the best in the Show at Second Base. Red Sox pint-sized Dustin Pedroia is not that far off as he packs a punch for all 162 and then some with his stellar all around play. Who joins them as one Tribe Players is creeping up slowly but surely and what about the Red Legs @DatDudeBP?

Top 5 SECOND Baseman in MLB for 2014 in order:

1. Robinson Cano #Ms aka Robbie

He will be 32 at the end of the 2014 season but he is smack dab in the middle of his prime years. That Mariners thought enough about Cano to pay him until 2023 and a whopping $240 million. He hit .314 and 27 bombs with 107 ribbies and cored 81 runs. That Yankees Line Up was all beat up in 2013 and he had no one really protecting him and he still put up numbers. Who will they put around him as he has moved his Talents to Seattle and the AL West?

2. Dustin Pedroia #Carmines aka D.P. @15LaserShow

He is the heart and soul for the Bo Sox and was the Key Cog behind the Carmines run ti another Chip. The Red Sox thought so highly of him they added 6 more years and $85 million to a deal that paid him $55 million through 2015. He is one of three Red Sox Players signed past 2014 as the Red Six Brass remains fiscally responsible and you cannot blame them. Pedroia turning 31 in August hit .301 and played in 160 of 162 games talking extensive durability. He had 42 two-baggers and 84 ribbies on 193 hits all in 2013 and now with Red Sox Lead Off Man Jacoby Ellsbury gone to the Dark Side...who hits in front of Pedroia who is a natural 2-Hole Hitter?

3. Jason Kipnis #Tribe @JK_KidThe

Out of nowhere J.K. carried the Tribe Offense along with LF Michael Brantley and Back Stop Carlos Santana. The 2013 All-Star led the Indians with 160 hits and 84 ribbies with some good power numbers of 20 bombs. The scary thing is the Tribe and other Teams know Kipnis is Arbitration Eligible in 2015 so they must try to get something done now as he is most certainly their #1 Hitter in the Line Up.

4. Brandon Phillips #RedLegs @DatDudeBP

He hit under his career mark of .271 average but the 103 ribbies (only to 2nd to Bruce 109 RBI) shows he can still be a top-notch run producer. Phillips and Joey Votto along with Jay Bruce are the leaders of the Red Legs and BP also brings his leather. A subject of Trade Rumors at the Winter Meetings this past winter Phillips stays put for now and that's a good thing for Red Legs Nation.

5. Ian Kinsler #MotorCityKitties

Kinsler took a shot at the rangers but at the end of the day its Business as he has to worry about how can he help the Detroit Tigers get to a World Series Chip. He still is solid at the Dish with a .277 average in 2013 with 85 runs scored and 72 ribbies and 151 hits. He will be hitting in front of 2012-13 AL M.V.P. Miggy Cabrera and he should get to see good pitching and some of those numbers should be much improved in 2014.

Best of the rest....

Chase Utley #PhightinPhils
Howie Kendrick #Halos
Neil Walker #Buccos
Aaron Hill #DBacks
