USA 7 SLOVAKIA 1...Team USA's Onslaught Offensively as the SLOVAKS sink in QUICK-Sand from the #LAKings....USA Strikes 1st in OLYMPIC Opener...SOCHI Winter Games 2k14 Men's HOCKEY #DawnsEarlyLight

Team USA wasted no time displaying their Talents as they skate all over the Slovaks led by Spokes Defenseman Zdeno Chara and Fear the Indian Head's Center Marian Hossa. The Americans  took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period behind Caps Defenseman John Carlson which was the only goal in frame one.

In the Second Period the US went O-Zone Layer on the Slovaks with a Six Goal Tally that included two goals by the Avs Paul Stastny. The Slovaks struck first in Period 2 with a goal by Wings Forward Tomas Tartar. That would be it for the Slovaks as Team USA put it in Overdrive with goals from Canucks Ryan Kessler, Leafs Phil Kessel, Kings Dustin Brown, and the Blue Notes David Backes.

The Slovaks fell into some Quick-Sand as USA Net Minder Jonathan Quick was on his A-Game and he had plenty of help with the Americans stifling "D". Quick stopped 22 of 23 frozen ones on his way to allowing one goal as the next Team USA Net Minder has their work cut out following that act.
