The Pittsburgh Pirates needed someone to step up in the Rotation to quiet the St. Louis Cardinals Offense and that was Buccos Starter Edinson Volquez. Volquez brought his A-Game and the Bucs Line Up brought good Maple, Ash, and Bamboo to the Park avoiding a Four-Piece Sweep from the Cards.

The Buccos started early on Redbirds Starter Shelby Miller as they scored in the 1st inning on a Russell Martin Single scoring Andrew McCutchen. The Redbirds get their only run of the night off of a Matt Carpenter Sac-Fly in the 3rd scoring Kolten Wong knotting the score at 1-1. From there all "Buccos Broke Loose" as the Pirates core a crooked three in the 5th and crooked 4 in the 6th as Miller was dunzo after the 5th. Miller's Tab...5 IP 5 H 4 R 4 BB 1 SO.

Volquez put it on "Cruise Control" after the the big 5th and 6th as he allows one run on six hits as he struck out five going Complete Job. The Pirates move to 48-44 good for 4th in the Central but 3.5 games off the top-heavy NL Central. The Redbirds fall to 50-43 good for 2nd in the Central two games back of the NL Central leading "Brew Crew"!
