The West is packed and every win or loss could cost you a slot heading North or South. The Golden State Warriors with rumored Lead Man Mark Jackson to be on the proverbial hot seat has it locked in awe we head into the stretch run. They took care of the Phoenix Suns in Planet Oracle as that Suns Back Court of El Dragic and "G2" did strike...but late!
The Warriors down 61-56 at the break stormed back in the 3rd frame as they took the lead at 74-73 with just over seven minutes to go only to go on a 20-5 run from that point to end the quarter. They all go into the act as the Warriors out scored PHX 38-17 in that frame. The Suns though came storming back late in the 4th to cut the lead to 11-107 G.S.W. but that was as close as they could get as time ran out with the Warriors getting a 113-107 "W".
The Warriors were led by David Lee's 26 points and nine rebounds with Sharp-shooting Klay "KLAY-metheus" Thompson scoring 22 points on 4 for 6 from deep. Steph Curry added 18 points and nine helpers as the Warriors drop the Suns in a tie with the Memphis Grizzlies in the eight hole. The Mavs move to the seven hole.
For the Suns it was those 3rd frame woes that put them in the "L" Column as Gerald Green had 25 points and six boards with Goran Dragic adding 24 points and six helpers. The Suns leading after the break knew the run was coming and could not slow the Warriors down at all. Nineteen Turnovers to the Warriors twelve Turnovers didn't help their cause.
G.S.W. hits the 40 win plateau moving to 40-24. The Suns drop to 36-26 as they try to stay in that vaunted Top 8 in the West.
