The New Orleans Saints knew something we didn't as they released Safety Roman Harper and let versatile Safety Malcolm Jenkins walk in Free Agency to Philly. That left 2nd year to be Safety Kenny "Hookem' Horns" Vaccarro as the #1 Safety left on the Depth Chart as the Saints land their expected Target.
The Saints seemingly working on along term deal to keep Tight End/Wide Out Jimmy "Big Red of NOLA" Graham catching Wilson Pigskins from Brees into the foreseeable future the Saints ink Byrd with a healthy deal. Byrd signs a reported 6-years $56 million deal with half of that ($28 million) guaranteed. Who Dat has let a lot of folks walk especially on Offense as that Super Bowl Winning Team needed a face-lift and is getting a major one.
Saints D-Coordinator Rob Ryan should have some kind of scheme waiting for the Opposition in 2014 with Vaccarro and Byrd on the back end and DE Cameron Jordan doing what he does on the front end.
360 Degrees...Byrd now will get to play against his Father Gill Byrd a former Standout Safety with the Chargers twice per season in the NFC South as the Elder Byrd is Cornerbacks Coach under Lovie Smith and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
