That would be 1-4 in their last five ACC Games and two of the four losses have been in the Carrier Dome. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets seemingly playing their March Madness Tourney now as they have had a disappointing 2013-14 season goes into to Syracuse and shocks the Orange taking a page from Chestnut Hill Mass U.
'Cuse last lead on the night was at 9-8 at the 13 plus minute mark. The last tie of the ball game was 11-11 at the 12 plus minute mark. After that for the love of Coach Bobby Cremins and Tech players such as Mark Price, John "Spider-Man" Salley, Bruce Darymple, Tom Hammonds, "Lethal Weapon 3" (Kenny Anderson, Brian Oliver, and Dennis 3-D" Dennis Scott), Travis Best, Stephon Marbury, Matt Harpring, and Chris Bosh...the Georgia Tech Ramblin' Wreck does the Impossible and beats the 'Cuse running the table from that twelve minute mark in the first half to an impressive 67-62 "W".
Led by Trae Golden's 16 points, Daniel Miller's 15 points and six boards, and Robert Carter Jr's 12 points and nine boards...Tech just wanted it more. Throw in a 15 of 21 from the Stripe as the 'Cuse painstakingly shoots 7 for 16 from the Stripe spelled gloom and doom for the Home Team.
The Orange gets 28 points and eight boards from Senior C.J. Fair on Senior Night as he shot 12 for 25 taking no shots or plays home with him. Freshman PG Tyler Ennis added 18 and seven helpers as 'Cuse Starters Cooney, Christmas, and Roberson combined to shoot 5 for 18 from the field. Orange Front Court Starter Jerami Grant was out with Back Problems and the 'Cuse Achilles Heel is they have no quality depth past their Starters and you saw that tonight.
After Starting 25-0 and 12-0 in the ACC the Orange has fallen way off moving to 26-4 and 13-4 in the ACC. The Ramblin' Wreck at 5-12 in the ACC and 14-16 overall can celebrate this "W" as their Highlight or one of the few for the 2013-14 season.
