This was the biggest game yet in the Blackhawks 2013-14 season and the Hawks are having problems with the two teams in their own division ahead of them. Tonight it was the Colorado Avalanche as they beat the Hawks 3-2 behind 5-Star Goal Tending from Russian National Teamer Semyon Varlamov as he stops 37 of 39 shots and onslaught at the end to preserve the Avs "W" as they move right in front of the Hawks for 2nd place in the Central.
Hawks trailed 2-0 early in the 2nd frame when Hawks leading scorer Patrick Kane backhands
one for #29 on the season. The Hawks then moving into the 3rd were two men down when the Avs struck again to make it 3-1. Hawks Brandon Saad made it 3-2 with just over two minutes to go and the Hawks desperately tried to get the Frozen One by Varlamov to no avail...Avs pick up two points!
Hawks now fall to 38-14-14which is 90 points and good for 3rd in the Central. The Avs move to 43-18-5 and 91 points and 2nd place in Central. The Blue Notes the leader in the Central is 44-17-5 and 95 points and they also have the best W-L record in Ice Games for 2013-14.
"Fear the Indian Head" just looks like they are pressing and they need to "Stay Calm and think Two points every outing". Maybe home tilts Friday March 14th vs Preds and Sunday March 16th vs the Wings might wake that Sleeping Giant up!
