Yes as though that supposed "Rift" between D-Rose and Bulls 2014-15 All-Star Jimmy Butler has anything to do with this. Butler a Restricted Free Agent this Summer doesn't have many options as the Bulls can match any offer her gets.

Now Butler has changed his tune in recent weeks eluding to he wants no part of a Max Contract instead going for 2-3 year deal with a front loaded amount and maybe the Bulls will not match that. Another route he could take is a two-year deal from Chicago and at the end of that deal and become an unrestricted free agent.

Bulls VP of OPS John Paxson and GM Gar Forman has the all leverage to a point but this one can get dicey and the "Mayor of the Madhouse" might have somewhat of an influence on Butler with Fred Hoiberg's free flowing offense!
