I know both Captain Serious #19 and the "Bison City Blur" #88 have those huge deals (both netting $84 million for the next 8 years) but letting go of Saad might be costly and don't tell me "Its the next man up" don't want to hear that Pool Hall Talk!
Saad expiring deal of $2.75 million over 3 years wasn't nearly enough moving forward as he will command you would think from the Jackets a salary of at least $6-$8 million per. That has to be out of the Hawks Range as they were looking around for Duffel Bags they know they do not have.
The Deal sends Saad, RW Alex Broadhurst and Defenseman Michael Paliotta to Columbus as the Indian Head receives Wingers Artem Anisimov, Marko Dano, Jeremy Morin, Corey Tropp, and a 2016 4th round pick. I have no idea who those gentleman are the Indian Head will get but someone needs to tell them about that Indian Head Sweater...It's not making the Playoffs that is the goal it's all about the Lord Stanley Cup and nothing else!
Note: D Nick Leddy was another one that got away but there was no way the Hawks could have gave him what the Isles just gave him this past season...
