The Chicago Cubs appear to be back on the right track as they once again start to head north in the standings. They finished the Minnesota Twins off today taking the Rubber Game behind a Jake Arrieta masterful performance which led to the Cubbies offensive breakout late in this one!

Arrieta goes complete job scattering four hits and striking out seven walking no one and shutting down that Twinkies Offense. The Cubs eight runs were highlighted by a Solo Bomb by Anthony Rizzo in the 5th and a "Granny" by Dexter Fowler in the 8th that led to a crooked six on the board in that 8th frame.

Twinkies starter Kyle Gibson allowed just two runs through the 5th then the Twinkies Pen imploded. Cubbies Fowler led with 4 RBI's as Starlin Castro went 3 for 4 scoring a run and Anthony Rizzo 2 for 4 scoring two runs.

The North Siders move to 37-30 just seven games back of the NL Central leading Redbirds. The Twinkies fall to 37-32 that's 3.5 games back of the AL Central leading Kansas City Royals.
