The Blackhawks reportedly through various media outlets have named former NHL Player Kevin Dineen and Assistant Coach to the Indian Head's lead Man Joel Quenneville on Tuesday. Dineen will replace Hawks Assistant Jamie Kompon as he heads to the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League to become GM and Lead Man.

Dineen is fresh off leading Team Canada's Women to the Gold Medal in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games. The Canadian will bring plenty of Hockey Knowledge to Coach "Q" and his staff as they were teammate back in the 1984-1990 seasons wit the then Hartford Whalers.  The former Right Winger played with the aforementioned Whalers, Pens, Canes, Sens, and Jackets amassing 355 Goals and 405 Helpers for a nice 760 points.

His coaching pedigree is solid having coached the Florida Panthers from 2011-2014 going 56-62 before being fired Mid-Season in the 2013-14 season.
