The Chicago Blackhawks with Winning Time near needs to start stepping it up as they lose to the Blue Shirts the first game back of the Sochi Winter Games Break last week ion NYC. They then beat Team Happy Feet the Pittsburgh Penguins in Soldier Filed in a cool Stadium Series Night Out in the Elements only to get an "L" the first game back at the Madhouse.

Behind 5-Star Net Minding from Russian National Team Goalie Semyon Varlamov (36-38 svs) and four goals one being an Empty Netter...the Avs get a big win vs the Blackhawks 4-2. The Avs struck first as there was no scoring in the 1st period behind a Maxime Talbot tip-in just 2:49 in period two. The Hawks scored to tie the game behind a Ben Smith wrister around the 17 minute mark of frame two. That was all the scoring in period two knotted at 1-1.

The Avs strike again right out of Intermission just a minute and a half in to make it 2-1 behind Ryan O'Reilly Snap Shot. Hawks Captain Serious scored to make it 2-2 with a wrister just over seven minutes in. The Avs then get the game-winning goal on a Slapper from Tyson Barrie five minutes after Toews tied it at 2-2 to make it 3-2. The Avs then get an Empty Netter to stun Hawks Nation. Hawks Net Minder Corey Crawford wasn't busy but stopped 17 of 20 shots. The Hawks out shoot the Avs 36-20 as they just ran up against a Goalie on his game.

Hawks don't pick up any points and their 2013-14 W-L is 36-13-14 with 86 points. The Blue notes lead the Central with 88 points with a 41-14-6 W-L. Ducks lead the West with 91 points standing at 43-14-5.
