The Hottest Ticket since the Mid 80s at Southern Methodist University located in Dallas, Texas near the swank Dallas Suburb Highland Park, Texas. Coaching Legends did battle as it's about the Student-Athletes but when you have Rick Pitino and Larry Brown leading their respective teams in the battle...it's bigger than the NCAA itself as the Bluedude just dropped a Hay maker on the NCAA Headquarters in Naptown, Indiana dba as Indianapolis, Indiana.

With both teams already a lock for the NCAA Tourney this was SMU's chance to move up in the AAC and take U of L right out of 1st place. The 'Stangs came in in 2nd place behind both Conference Leaders the Cards and Bearcats of Cincy with UConn riding in the 3rd slot. After all the smoke and excitement cleared in nostalgic Moody Coliseum...For the all the Race Horses and the World's Fastest Two Minutes in Sports...the running of the Kentucky Derby...RUSS-diculous dba Cards Senior Sniper Russ Smith broke out like Minions dancing to Pharrell's Hit Single "Happy".

With the Mustangs doing what they do riding the Energy at Moody they went up 18-5 early but couldn't run away from the seasoned Cards' as U of L went on a 27-12 run after that 18-5 hit to take a 32-30 lead into the break. It was then back and forth early in the 2nd half until Russ Smith and Luke Hancock made Money Ball's to put the Cards' up eight to get to the Finish Line 84-71.

The Cards RUSS-diculous was all of that hitting all six tried from the "Land of Plenty" and netting a game-high 26 points. His back court mate Chris Jones followed suit with 21 points and 4 for 7 from the Arc as they both combined to shoot 10 for 13 from Three. Montrezl Harrell added 19 points and eight boards with Hancock the 4th and final Louisville Players in double figures with 15. U of L's + 27 points from the Arc was the difference in the game as SMU could not stop them from deep.

SMU was led Nick Russell's 18 points and nicer floor game of six boards and five helpers. 'Nova Transfer Markus Kennedy added 14 points and six boards. SMU Top Freshman Sterling Brown had 10 points as the 'Stangs inability to match the Cards Shooting and play making was a huge factor.

Cards' stay in 1st place in the AAC moving to 14-3 and 25-5 overall. Pony Up falls to 12-5 in the AAC and 23-7 overall but that was a game they will build on for Tourney Time.
