Mike Leake most likely told himself let me do some damage control just in case the run support eludes me as I face Pittsburgh Pirates Ace Garrit Cole. Well Leake helped his own cause by throwing eight scoreless frames and the Red Legs just needed one duck to cross the dish and they gave Leake three.

Behind a Brandon Phillips RBI single in the 3rd and Leake helping his own cause by hitting a ground-rule two-bagger for an RBI the Reds blank the Bucs at PNC 3-0. It was Pirates OF Marlon Byrd who took Cole deep in the 5th a solo blast making it 3-0 as Leake and the "Cuban Missile" and Reds Captain Save-A-Game Aroldis Chapman took it home from there.

Leake goes eight strong allowing six hits as he walked two moving to 2-1 on the year. Chapman grabs save #6 reaching the gun again and again at 100 plus. Cole gets loss #1 in five decisions as his tab was eight hits and three runs through five frames as he walked two and stuck out four giving that solo shot up to Byrd.

Red Legs move to 14-13 while the Buccos fall to 12-15. Cincy goes for the sweep on Thursday as its Anthony DeSclafani for the Reds and A.J. Burnett for Buccos!
