The New York Mets needed someone other than the "Dark Knight" Matt Harvey and Bartolo Colon (who has fallen on hard times in May" to pick up that Amazins' starting rotation. Well in game 4 of a four-piece between the NL Central leading Redbirds of Baseball Town U.S.A. and the Metropolitans enter Mets starter Jacob deGrom.

Mr. deGrom was dealing as he gave up a 1st frame single to the Redbirds Hot Corner Matt Carpenter and that would be it. The Amazins' RHP would then mow down 23 straight Cards hitters after that as he goes eight frames striking out eleven and walking no one on a one-hitter.

The Mets Offense came from Lucas Duda as he goes solo blast in the 6th with the Amazins' already up 1-0 making it 2-0 off Redbirds starter Jaime Garcia. Then he hits a three-run bomb in the 8th for insurance purposes giving the Mets a 5-0 lead.

Garcia left after seven giving up two runs on five hits as he falls to 0-1. Mr. deGrom moves to 5-4 as the Mets split a four-piece with the redbirds as New York is at the top of the NL East with the Nats! The Redbirds lead the Cubbies by three full games coming in as the North Siders get the Friars in Diego later tonight in their rubber game!
