Both starting pitchers Jon Niese for the New York Metropolitans and Travis Wood of the Chicago Cubs hit the showers earlier than expected. Ten pitchers in all hit the "Bump" as four "Bombs' were hit off the starters, and two big frames with crooked numbers in abundance. After the smoke cleared the 2015 Chicago Cubs sweep the Mets in the four-piece and this after a 2-5 Motel swing last week vs the Redbirds and "Piwowarzy"!

It was the the Amazins' hitting Wood for the first three runs as Mets back stop Anthony Recker took Wood deep in frame two for a 1-0 Mets lead. Then in the 4th with the score still 1-0 Recker joins Wilmer Flores taking Wood back to back as the Mets were up 3-0.

Mets Starter Niese couldn't hold the Cubs nor your favorite sports drink as Cubbies CF Dexter Fowler takes Niese yard for the Cubbies first run making it 3-1 Mets after four frames. Mets add two more in the 5th on a John Mayberry Jr. two RBI-single making it 5-1 Mets. Those runs were charged to Wood as Cubs middle man Jason Motte gave that single up.

Still in the 5th the North Siders who have a different fight and energy as well as team make-up playing "Maddon Ball" puts up a crooked four in the 5th tying the game up at 5-5. That frame was highlighted by a Matt Szczur two-bagger, and RBI-singles by the big boys Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant.

The game-winner comes on a passed ball by Reckers giving the Cubbies a 6-5 lead that they would never relinquish. Cubbies Captain Save-A-Game Hector Rondon after giving up a lead-off single goes 1-2-3 for a Cubs "W" and the four-game sweep.

The North Siders move to 19-15 and that's good for 2nd in the Central. The Amazins' playing like anything but falls to 20-15 with the Nats all of a sudden residing in the same neighborhood.
