Jon Lester is a big game pitcher as he is real good through 162 as well. The Cubbies are starting to their Rebate back from their #1 starter as the weather at Wrigley heats up as does Lester. Through a solid seven frames scattering nine hits and allowing a run a "Bomb" from Sean Rodriguez in the 3rd Lester was real good.

The Pirates lone run in the game was that HR in the 3rd as the Cubbies scored in the bottom half of the 1st on a Starlin Castro sac-fly and a Starlin Castro force out in the 3rd making it 2-1 Cubs. Buccos starter and Ace Garrit Cole was solid as he left after six giving up those two runs on seven hits as he struck out eight.

"Maddon Ball" then struck in the 7th on Buccos reliever Arquimedes Caminero as they score on a wild pitch and an Anthony Rizzo sac-fly as Addison Russell and Dexter Fowler score them runs. The Cubbies pen handled it from there in the 8th and 9th as starter turned set-up man/Captain Save-A-Game Travis Wood gets his 1st save of 2015.

The Cubbies move to 21-15 as the Buccos fall to 17-21...and don't look now the North Siders are just three games back of the Redbirds for the Central Lead as Memorial Day 2K15 is coming up and how bout' them Michigan Apples!
