It's  a shock to some but from the Bluedude's Perspective it didn't surprise me. The New Orleans Pelicans fire lead man Monty Williams after a 45-37 season that put the Pelicans in the 8th seed as they got swept by then Golden State Warriors. Now you want what has been going on behind the scenes in the Big Easy talking State Bird of Louisiana Hoops...here we go!

The Pelicans have been talking to former Pistons VP/GM Joe Dumars for quite sometime as Joe D and Pelicans President Mickey Loomis are real close and have been for quite sometime. Through my source close to the situation Pelicans Owner Tom Benson wants more from the Pelicans and not just an 8 seed and no playoff wins.

Now current Pelicans GM Dell Demps is in a contract year coming up and the Pelicans made no efforts through this season to give him an extension. Now we all know if you know NBA Exec Scenarios the GM and Coach are connected at the hip as Demps ands Monty Williams are. What I see happening is the Pelicans firing Demps this week and moving on with naming Joe Dumars GM.

Mind you this Demps and Williams are off the "Pops" and R.C. Buford Spurs Tree as Demps still keeps him home in San Antonio, Texas. They will land quickly as Williams was an Assistant on Team U.S.A. National Team.

The one player hurt by this firing is the "Brow" Anthony Davis who is extremely close to Coach Williams. Having said that could the Pelicans go after Coach John Calapari as the Cavaliers appear to be his next stop this season no matter what current Cavs lead man David Blatt does.
