Both starters in this one in New York Mets Noah Syndegaard and Chicago Cubs Jake Arrieta were rolling through five scoreless frames as we entered the 6th all knotted up with goose eggs on the Wrigley Field Scoreboard.

Then we entered the bottom half of the 6th still no score then a Jorge Soler single and a Starlin Castro RBI double breaks up the scoreless game as it was 1-0 Cubbies. A mound visit by the Mets and the next Cubs hitter Chris Coghlan takes Syndergaard deep for a two-run shot making the score 3-0 Cubs. Later that frame with Alex Torres taking over for Syndergaard Miguel Montero singles home Dexter Fowler making it 4-0 North Siders at the end of six.

Chicago would tack on two more runs on a 7th inning double by Addison Russell and a solo blast in the 8th off Kris Bryant's bat as the Mets only run would be a sac-fly in the 8th from Kevin Plawecki.

Arrieta would go eight strong allowing a run on three hits as he struck out ten and gave just two free passes. He moves to 4-3 on the season with Syndergaard talking the "L" for the Mets falling to 0-1 as he gives up three runs through 5 1/3 frames on six hits.

The North Siders move to 17-15 as the Mets fall to 20-13 as we get the "Dark Knight" Mets Ace Matt Harvey in tomorrow night's tilt versus the Cubbies Jason Hammel at 8:05pm ET at Wrigley...
