The Kansas City Royals just four games back of the Motor City Kitties in the AL Central needed to get a solid start playing vs the Shows best W-L in 2014 the Oakland Athletics. The A's fresh off filling up on 93 Octane on the "Bump" at the MLB Trade Deadline had the momentum and energy going into this one.

The Royals go into the "Black Hole" MLB Set-Up and ride the Arms of Starter Jeremy Guthrie (6 IP 3 H 0 R 2 BB 6 SO) and the Royals Pen going 3 IP 2 H BB 6 SO to eke out a 1-0 Shutout. They beat A's Ace Sonny Gray as Veteran OF Raul Ibanez takes Gray Deep to Right Center for the only run of the ball game.

Gray was brilliant as he goes seven allowing three hits and striking out seven as that "Round Tripper" he gave up to Ibanez he would like to have that one back. Josh Reddick hitting 7th in the A's Line Up went 3 for 4.

The Royals move to 56-52 and stay four games back of the Tigers as they beat the "Rox". The A's falling to 66-42 have the Halos just a 1/2 game back at 66-43.
