The Kansas City Royals beat the Athletics and Ace Sonny Gray moving into a tie in the AL Central with the Detroit Tigers. Compounding the "L" the Tigers took from the Buccos was RHP Justin Verlander exiting with reported Right Shoulder Soreness and that is not a good look.

The Royals on an eight-game win streak went up 2-0 after two as they were getting to Gray. Gray settled down and the A's in the 3rd tied the game on a Brandon Moss two run-scoring single off Royals Starter Yordano Ventura.

The game moved into the bottom of the 7th still 2-2 when Alcides Escobar gets a two-our run scoring single scoring Nori Aoki and that was the ball game. Greg Holland picks up his AL leading 35th save for the Royals. Gray moves to 12-6 as the Royals move to first place at 63-52.

The Tigers lose their AL Central lead but they are all worried about Verlander who went down after one. The Buccos hammered the Tigers 11-6 as the Bucs remain 2.5 games behind the Brew Crew who beat the Cubbies.

Tigers struggling to stay afloat as the AL Central leader now gets the Royals riding shotgun!
