The Nats/Braves Tilt tonight at Turner Field was a microcosm of the Three-Piece as the Braves won 7-6 Friday Night with the Nats winning in Extras on Saturday 4-1 in 12. It was Braves Starter Alex Wood out dueling Nats Starter Gio Gonzlaez as those Braves Bats did just enough for a 3-1 "W"!

Nats Star SS Ian Desmond struck first in the 4th taking Wood for a Solo Ride making it 1-0 Nats. The Braves in their half of the 4th ties it up as Justin Upton takes Gio "Yard" for a Solo Blast himself as Atlanta took the lead for good on a Jason Heyward run-scoring single in the 5th.

Gio replaced right after that goes 4 2/3 innings allowing six hits and two runs walking four and striking out eight. Wood was cruising as he gives up that Jack by Desmond through seven strong allowing five hits as he struck out a dozen getting the win.

The Braves added some insurance on an Evan Gattis single scoring Chris Johnson. Braves Country then made that call to the Pen for Chop Shop Captain Save-A-Game Craig Kimbrel as he goes "K" and two groundouts for his 34th save of 2014.

Braves 3.5 games back moves to 60-57. The Nats at 63-53 will be at Citi Field starting Monday Night with the Braves hosting the sNL West leading Dodgers.
