The Pittsburgh Pirates came in 2.5 games behind the Brew Crew in the Central as the Brewers go head to head with the Redbirds. The Buccos gets a 5-Star Effort from Starter Vance Worley (ND 6 IP 7 H 1 R 1 ER 1 BB 2 SO) and a late rally in the 8th and 9th frames to beat the D-Backs 8-3.

With the score all knotted up at 1-1 in the 8th the Pirates jumped all over D-Backs Reliever Ziegler to the tune of four runs. Those runs were highlighted by a Andrew McCutchen run-scoring single, a Throwing Error by Ziegler, and a two-bagger by Bucs Hot Corner Brent Morel. The Bucs then added three more in the 9th to win going away as the D-Backs added two off of a David Peralta Two-Run Big Fly. Jared Hughes gets the "W" for the Bucs moving to 6-2 in 2014.

The Pirates now 1.5 games back of the Brewers moves to 59-51. The Diamondbacks falling to 48-63 will also lose All-Star First Baseman Paul Goldschmidt due to a Fractured Left Hand...not good!
