The Detroit Tigers appear to be playing their best Hardball since the start of the season as they finish a Three-Game Sweep of the AL West leading Oakland Athletics. It was Tigers Starter Justin Verlander on the heels of Rick Porcello's 3-0 shutout last night that gets the much-needed "W" for himself let alone the Tigers.

The A's didn't go quietly as they touched Verlander for two Solo Blasts in Inning #1 from Coco Crisp and Brandon Moss to make it 2-0 Athletics. The Tigers chipped away at the lead scoring one in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th on A's Starter Jesse Chavez (L 5 IP 8 H 5 R 4 BB 5 SO) as Detroit took the lead in after the 4th 3-2.

It was the Six Run 6th Inning for the Tigers that chased Chavez and gave the Tigers the "W" and the sweep behind four singles, two free passes, and a double as the Tiger Bats woke up this series. Verlander allowed two runs on nine hits through six innings as he struck out four with those two Solo Bombs on his Tab. Brandon Moss led the A's going 4 for 4 with an RBI. Torii Hunter led the Tigers going 3 for 4 with three RBIs.

Tigers move to 47-34 getting a little breathing room from the 2nd place 44-40 Royals of K.C. Hardball. The A's fall to 51-33 just three games ahead of the Halos of Orange County California Hardball.
