They had to make a move and both the St. Louis Blues and Buffalo Sabres for different reasons but the same reasons. In a difficult move for franchise that has more downs then ups but always have their Franchise-Like Net Minder to hold onto...now that's gone. At the same token for Franchise that feels they are a Player or two away from a shot at Lord Stanley they had to move a great Asset to get another Great Asset.

The Buffalo Sabres move longtime Net Minder for them as well as Team USA in Ryan Miller and Sabes Captain Center Steve Ott to the St. Louis Blues for Blues Net minder Jaroslav Halak, forward Chris Stewart, Forward Prospect William Carrier, and a 1st round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft as well as conditional pick. This might get everyone rolling as the Ice Games Trade Deadline is March 5th.

Now with that move the West Top-Heavy with Teams like the Ducks, Blackhawks, and Sharks all right in the same neighborhood as the Blues...do they make a move...or stay pack? We shall see as the Sabes are looking to acquire talent and get on the long road back to respectability.
