The Wichita State Shockers made quick work of the Bears as Missouri State was looking for Honey and there is none of that in the Great State of Kansas. Shockers started with a 39-21 lead at the break and cruised after that and to a 68-45 win.
To run the table in a Mid-Major Conference is one thing but this is the same Team that beat Ohio State in the West Finals and went to the Final Four and lost to the eventual Champions the Louisville Cardinals last season. In other words they have been doing this for two seasons and it doesn't matter the name on the jersey the Wheat Shockers are coming through your Front Door with no knock. Bill Self was quoted as saying he thinks they deserve a #1 Seed and no one needs to hear him say that in Wichita as he needs to take that game in Wichita and play the Shockers as Wichita State would have been more than happy to go to Phog Allen....stop it Bill!
Shockers All-American Candidate and former JUCO All-American Cleanthony Early led the Shockers with 19 points. Rod Baker added 13 points and Darius Carter ten points as the Shockers shot 51% from the field but just 61% from the Stripe and that has to change. The Bears were led by Jarmar Gulley's 15 points the only Missouri State Player in double figures. Shockers finish the MVC 18-0 and 31-0 on the Regular Season.
It's a no-brainer Wheat Shockers Lead Man Gregg Marshall for National Lead Man of the Year...
Cleanthony Early
Greg Marshall
Jarmar Gulley
Missouri State Bears
MVC
Rod Baker
