No one knew but Cavs Lead Man Tony Bennett knew as like Pops Dick Bennett goes about his business quietly and methodically and gets immediate results. 'Cuse this and 'Cuse that and look who runs he ACC as they build Duke vs Syracuse to be the New ACC Rivalry when the Wahoos were building the Regular Season ACC Champion.
Like an 80s Heavyweight Fight they filled each other out in the 1st half as the Orange led 28-27 at the break. The Cavs made the proper adjustments and in the 2nd half took the Orange to a "Special Place" outscoring the 'Cuse 48-28 for a whopping 75-56 victory. Most College Basketball Heads could not name one player on the Wahoos as we are always caught up in the AAU Circuit, the Nations Top 100 HS Ballers, and of course the Kansas, UNC, DUKE, and Syracuse of the world. They may have a ton of Big Mac's, Quarter Pounders, and Filet-o-Fish surrounded by the Dollar Menu of Cheeseburgers and Chicken Sandwiches but the Wahoos have a solid bunch that will be around most likely to graduate. That's not taking shots it's the fact of the matter in Major College Basketball these days.
The Wahoos were led by a balanced attack as Guard Malcolm Brogdon the best Player in the ACC no one talks about led all scorers with 19 points. Front Court Starters Akil Mitchell and Mike Tobey combined for 23 points as they hauled in seventeen Oranges. Smooth Guard Tandem of Joe Harris and London Perrantes combined for 13 points, eleven assists, and seven boards as they controlled the all important "Pace" in the 2nd half. The Orange gets 13 points apiece from Tyler Ennis and C.J. Fair.
The Cavs move to 16-1 in the ACC and 25-5 overall as the 'Cuse falls to 13-3 in the ACC and 26-3 overall after starting 25-0 they are 1-3 since. The Cavs shoot an efficient 50% from both the field and 3pt land.
The Wahoos will face the Fighting Turtles in their final regular season match up as the Turtles head off to the Big Ten in the 2014-15 season.
