The Chicago Cubs have nowhere to go but up as they face elimination from here on out in their best of seven with the New York Mets. Maddon Ball won't quit until that last out and they have nine frames left to do something about it as game #3 eneed in a 5-2 Mets "W" and Rainfall fittingly enough in Wrigleyville U.S.A.!
It was a combination for the Cubbies of a semi-dead Offense "At the Dish" and Mets Pitching also Mets Hitting. Speaking of hitting Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks went four frames giving up just two runs as the Mets 3-4-5 hitters of David Wright dba the Captain, Murphy's Law dba Daniel Murphy, and Yoenis Cespedes of Cuba Hardball combined to go 8 for 14 a Bomb as they scored all five Mets runs with three Ribbies. Murphy also went Solo Bomb in the 3rd putting the Amazins' up 2-1.
That 6th and 7th frame for Cubbies relievers had been their "Bread and Butter" and for the first time in October they imploded. That (WP) Wild Pitch by Trevor Cahill happens as that scored Cespedes who had a RBI single in the 7th as LF Kyle Schwarber dropped Cespedes' line drive which could have been ruled and error! A Lucas Duda ground out RBI ended the scoring as the Mets left their half of the 7th up 5-2 the final score.
Chicago goes 5 for 32 "At the Dish" as Schwarber and Jorge Soler each went Solo Shot to the "Bleacher Bums" in the 1st and 4th. Now we get a game #4 with the Cubs on the brink of elimination...Let's Go Cubbies there is more October Hardball to play!
