The Washington Capitals with help from a familiar foe for the Blackhawks in TJ Oshie gets all over the Indian Head on the Hawks 2nd leg of back to back 4-1. Hawks blue-paint tenant Scott Darling got the start and stopped 20 of 24 SOG. Chicago again struggled to open up scoring chances late as they get only five SOG in the 3rd.

It was former Blues Star TJ Oshie who got things started in the 1st with his first goal with the Caps making it 1-0 Washington.  John Carlson just three minutes into the 2nd "Lit the Lamp" for a Caps 2-0 lead as that score held up through the 2nd frame.

Then in the 4th Matt Niskanen scored just over two minutes into the 3rd making it 3-0 Caps only to see the Hawks Viktor Svedberg score a minute after that for a Caps 3-1 lead. Then it was Alex Ovechkin's turn late as he beat Darling for a Caps 4-1 lead and the final score of 4-1.

Caps net minder Braden Holtby stopped 26 of 27 SOG from the Indian Head. Washington moves to 2-1 as the Hawks fall to 2-3. Chicago has the Columbus Blue Jackets coming up on Saturday October 17 and an old friend Brandon Saad will be on the ice with the Jackets getting his ring of course!
