The Chicago Cubs starting Pitching since that Redbirds Debacle last weekend steps forward and takes care of the New York Mets as the North Siders take all three games. It was Cubbies starter Jake Arrieta today on "Get Away Day" that did the job today scattering just five hits over eight strong frames and giving up one run as Chicago wins 6-1.

The Cubs Offense started late but in the Show its never too late if your going to hit the Winner's Circle. Cubs scored in 2nd only for the Amazins' to get a Curtis Granderson RBI double in the 3rd tying the game at 1-1. Little did we know that would be it for the Metropolitans in this one as Arrieta's "Stuff" had "Stuff"!

In the 5th Anthony Rizzo's RBI single made it 2-1 Cubbies as Mets starter Jacon deGrom would get in more trouble in the 6th. Chicago's Jonathan Herrera would take deGrom deep in the 6th for a two-run blast and that would be it for deGrom scoring Mike Baxter. Mr. deGrom who has had better days and more good days ahead of him gets saddled with the loss going 5.1 IP giving up four runs on seven hits.

The North Siders moving to 42-35 received more insurance in the 9th on a Miguel Montero two-run Shot scoring Rizzo for the final of 6-1 Cubbies. The Amazins' fall to the vaunted .500 mark at 40-40 and is the NL East Race versus the Nats' lost before the Break for New York's Senior Circuit Outfit?

North Siders now gets Little Havana Hardball for July 4th Weekend and Cubs Nation that series should be "Nuts on Clark" good good for the home team!
