All of a sudden the Pittsburgh Pirates playing "Hurdle Ball" has caught fire and the only thing that might slow them down is the Mid Summer's Classic 2K15 and the break. The Pirates grab game #3 of the three-piece and sweeps the hapless San Diego Padres by the score of 5-2.

Diego Hardball scored first in the 1st frame on Matt Kemp solo bomb making the score 1-0 Friars. Melvin Upton Jr. the Artist formerly known as B.J. Upton as he might be in the Rays "Witness Protection Program" goes RBI double in 2nd making it 2-0 'Dres.

That same frame the Buccos get on the board on an "El Toro" Pirates hot corner Pedro Alvarez sac-fly making it 2-1.  Padres starter Andrew Cashner was cruising with a 2-1 Padres lead until the 7th on a fielder's choice as the Pirates tied it 2-2.

Cashner then blew up in the 8th as the Pirates score three times once off Cashner all on RBI singles making it 5-2 the final score. Gregory Polanco, Andrew McCutchen, and Jung Ho Kang all had the RBI singles in that frame.

Buccos starter Charlie Morton gets the No-Decision as he goes six allowing just two early runs on five hits. Pittsburgh at 50-24 is just four games back of the Redbirds as we go to press. The Friars at 39-49 are nine games out in he NL West!
