The New Orleans Pelicans needed Anthony Davis to be on his a-game and out of foul trouble and he was neither. The Grizzlies took full advantage of their edge in the front court and went to work for a hard-fought 93-81 win over the new Pelicans of NOLA trying to make a name for themselves in the Southwest division.

The Grizzlies kept the game at their pace and led 40-33 at the break behind excellent half court "D"! That same strategy led Grit and Grind to a 64-56 lead after three. The Pelicans star Anthony Davis was in early foul trouble sitting for most of the 1st and 2nd frame.

Then Grizz got within four points at 72-68 Grizz with just under seven minutes and that would be as close as they would get as the Grizz wins going away 93-81. Memphis was led by "A Night out with the Grind House Bigs" in that front court. Marc Gasol had a team-high 16 points with Z-Bo adding 15 as they both hauled in eleven boards.  The "Grind Father" Tony Allen also grabbed eleven boards with a dozen points with Tayshuan Prince netting 14.

The Pelicans get a game-high from big guard "REKhavoc" Evans with 21 points and seven boards. Davis added 14 points and eight boards with Eric Gordon eleven points and PG Jrue Holiday chipping in with 10 points and six assists. State Bird of Louisiana Hoops shot 4 for 24 from deep coupled with a -8 in attempts from the foul line.

Grit and Grind Beale Street moves to a quiet and under the radar 4-0. Th Pelicans fall to 1-2...
