The Chicago Blackhawks needed to get a "W" out the gate for the 2014 Circus Trip and they did just that outlasting a game Calgary Flames squad 4-3. The Indian did a lot with so little as they "lit the Lamp" four times on just 22 SOG. The Flames made it tough as they overcame an early 2-0 lead by the Hawks and a 3-2 lead only to lose 4-3 in the end.

It was both Adam Clendening and Daniel Carcillo who got the Hawks off to a 2-0 start early in the 1st as it looked like it was going to be a lopsided affair in Calgary. The Flames had other ideas beating Hawks net minder Corey Crawford twice in the first behind goals by Paul Bryon and Dennis Wideman.

The Hawks rebounded in the 2nd behind a Brent "Brooksie" Seabrook goal making it 3-2 Hawks. The Flames though not even two minutes later gets a Sean Monahan goal on a one-timer beating Craw-Dad tying the game up at 3-3.

Then midway through the 3rd "Mama there goes that Man" as the "Bison City Blur" strikes with a Wrister and that was his hometown of Buffalo fighting all that white stuff. The Indian Head was 1/2 on the PP and the Flames 2/6.

Crawford stopped 24 of 27 goals while Flames net minder Jonas Hiller formerly of the Quack Attack in Orange County, California stopped 18 of 22. Hawks get two points and have 23 on the season.

Next up for the Indian Head the Oilers of Edmonton Alberta and the new Northland Coliseum dba Rexall Place on Saturday November 22, 1014 at 9pm ET

Note: For those real Ice Games heads the Northlands Coliseum was home to the "Great One" Wayne Gretzky and Coach Glen Sather and all those great Oilers squads from the 80s.
