The Philadelphia Phillies started slow but as of the last few weeks have played well enough to get the #2 slot in the NL East behind the Atlanta Braves. The Phils are 5 1/1 games back as we go to press but there is a bright spot in that line up for the Phils. No its not Vets Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, or Jimmy Rollins. Time to meet and greet Phillies Left Fielder Domonic Brown who has been carrying the Phightin' Phils at the Dish through June 6, 2013.

Brown has been a one-man wrecking crew as the numbers for the aforementioned Phillies Stars are all down Brown has helped the power outage at Citizens Bank Ball Park and on the road coming out of the Motel for the Broad Street Lumber Company. Brown is 3rd in average at .290 and if your counting Phils Everyday Players he is #1. He also leads the 'Phils in Bombs with 18, Ribbies with 44, Runs with 32, and hits with 64. Yes the Phils were probably counting on someone to rise up and fill the void if there Vets started slow and Brown has answered the bell.

The one thing Brown can't help is the pitching staff of the 'Phils with Cliff Lee leading at 7-2, Doc Halladay in Dry Storage, and Cole Hammels having a meltdown on the Bump at 2-9 as we go to press. If Hammels was even .500 the Phightin' Phils would be two to three games out and three to four games over .500. The Law of Averages says the Poor Man's Steve Carlton...Hammels will get back to at least .500 and the Phils have some unfinished business in the NL East as they chase Pre Season Fav the Braves. If it was up to Brown they Phils have everyone right where they want them.
