As we go to press the Detroit Tigers are five full games up on the 2nd place Kansas City Royals. Everyone knows the Tigers have Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer among others as well as Skip Jimmy Leyland. They also know that Line Up is built around Miggy Cabrera and Prince Fielder but is it entirely?

Enter Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski's Winter Meeting move of picking up Halos Free Agent Right Fielder Torii Hunter who is just as valuable in the Clubhouse as he is between the chalk. Then you throw in one of the top lea doff men in the Show in CF Austin Jackson with Hunter behind him...that's AL Central Butta!

The middle of the Tigers Infield is hitting better than .300 in Shortstop Jhonny Peralta and Second Baseman Omar Infante. The only kink in the Tigers Armor is they have trouble rolling credits when they make that call to the Pen. Let's Take a look at the Numbers for the Tiger's Star Line Up:

Miggy 3B .358 19 HR 71 RBI 55 Runs
Prince 1B .292 12 HR 52 RBI 35 Runs

Hunter RF .292 3 HR 27 RBI 36 Runs
A. Jackson CF .287 3 HR 14 RBI 37 Runs

Peralta SS .332 6 HR 30 RBI  32 Runs
Infante 2B .308 4 HR 21 RBI 33 Runs

V. Martinez DH/C .231 5 HR 33 RBI 22 Runs

(Remember Victor Martinez was lost for the 2012 Season with Knee Surgery and he will get back to his old self soon)

Looking at the tigers 2K13 Line Up where are the holes as you take the first six hitters and there is no outs especially with Peralta and Infante above that .300 mark.

The Tigers are almost a lock for October Baseball as the upstart Royals should be challenging as well as the Indians. Expect the Tigers to make a move somewhere to get them a Vet Closer that a Team is willing to part with due to not going anywhere and dumping Salary or both.
